Une symphonie des sens!
Montreuil-sur-Mer and La Destination Gastronomique (https://ladestinationgastronomique.com/journal/) are running the second annual festival for all the senses on Sunday, June 23rd in Montreuil-sur-Mer, France (just a 45 minute drive from Calais). From 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, Montreuil will become a theatre of food, wine and music.
This year, the event is centred on the Place du General de Gaulle and the Place Verte/Place Darnétal (with plenty of seating and places to perch in both) with additional stands in Rue d’Hérambault and Rue des Cordonniers, which link the two squares. Visitors will be able to buy food and drinks around the town using special event vouchers that can be purchased from the Tourist Office, as well as in the Place du General de Gaulle and the Place Verte.
This year’s featured wine region is Languedoc, with five wines from the area available to buy by the glass (2 reds, 2 whites, one rosé – as well as soft drinks for children). Visitors will be able to wander through the picturesque streets, a drink in hand, trying the creations prepared by our chefs and artisan food producers, to the accompaniment of the many different styles of music on offer throughout the day (10 different bands in total).
New Passport for La Destination Gastronomique – What’s more natural for a destination than to offer a passport? Being launched at the festival, the new passport can be purchased for €30 and offers unique benefits throughout the year in each of the members establishments of the La Destination Gastronomique, all of whom will be represented at the event.
Join us for the Symphonie des Sens! to discover Montreuil-sur-Mer and its astonishing foodie scene: its cheese and chocolate shops, wine merchants, restaurants, bakers and delicatessens … all part of an outstanding Gastronomic Destination that will excite your senses throughout the year.
